Disgruntled pelican (Louisianian), baker, mom, insomnia poster, and oxford comma enthusiast tweeting (skeeting?) into the void as 'me time'. Washingtonian (DC). Safer streets = day job. I think in GIFs. tweets/skeets = my own. she/her/hers
Look I only lived in NY State for 6 years but this is a damn crime, St. Louis. Straight to jail.

This sticker should be featured in a textbook about privilege.

@bikepedantic.bsky.social "We did it Joe! We did it!" Just got to visit this project after it was completed over a year ago. Are there things I would do differently if I had it to do over? Yes, of course. Is this the best case scenario for the time when we did this? Yep.

Exhibit 527 of creepy pedestrian tunnels aka murder tunnels. Union Station in Alexandria. At least it's well lit while someone dropped their Crocs... Or kicked them off in a fight for their life who can tell. 3/5 😱

Found these in my yard, are these morels?! Google says yes but I also don't wanna die if I eat them. #mushroomsky

Ok and what the hell is this thing? The buttless chaos of an urban lawn extended to the famously pedestrian friendly Whitney Young Bridge/s. Miss me with this bullshit.

Then you've got an even worse, car-centric design that widens recently dieted streets when There's A FRIGGIN METRO RIGHT THERE. Stahp it Archies./4

As an almost-architect, but current plangineer in the DC area the RFK renderings are.. thought provoking. Not supporting anything fox related so screen capped from the article. A few things stand out to me... 1. Hot take: architects should not design neighborhoods./1

Also is it me or does this guy give Parks and Rec Robot Senator vibes?

In wards adjacent to MoCo and PG, if you expand the zone to be all inclusive, you'd get overwhelming support from residents by feeding into the "DC vs everyone" and nimby vibe that's already prevalent. When I hear people at public meetings complain about traffic, I just want to say-

Have you seen the samba Woodies?

Breath of fresh air with this session of state DOT leaders talking safety priority work. Whew! I was so close to hopping on metro and nope-ing this whole conference #trbam

Dammit. That's the portmanteau I've been looking for for these. Also I saw this done to one out in the exurbs and I'm not sure if they are delusional or this is some kind of self own. Surely these people are not that self aware, right?

My favorite housing meme I've ever created

A few weeks ago in WaPo local, there was an anti bike Op-ed that was severely misinformed. I fixed it for them here.

Hm. I don't often defend USDOT, but this is taken directly from the FHWA "Humans make mistakes" is clearly there. It's the interpretation or lack of reading into these, is where the implementation goes wrong. Especially in individual jurisdictions, but it's not giving anyone an out.

Clippy voice "I see you're trying to ignore that your politics impacts real lives and make a meme.. would you like some help?"

This New Yorker cartoon hit me in the chest, and applies to any city, town or county starting on the Vision Zero journey, only the trend line is going up versus down 📈. It can't just be meetings and then you go on with business as usual. Internally it's a huge change management effort./1

I caught it too and I also made this face
September 11, 2024 at 3:06 AM
And you may ask yourself, how do I work this? (This is not one in DC thankfully)

Pretty disgusting and bold faced sexism IMHO covering her cookbooks to make her seem "domestic enough". Never have other presidential candidates had their cookbooks outlined. Ew Esquire just ew.
