When I started college, I made it 2 months before computer lab life broke me. A friend sold me their old Mac Powerbook G3. Only 5 or 6 lbs. Sleek. Smol. Sexy. Buying that laptop, even used, felt like such a status marker.

It was great weather for wandering around the ruins of an old military dependents' village in Taoyuan today. Approximately 150 households can be found here on the south side of the airport. The village was depopulated in the late 2000s and is probably doomed due to the Aerotropolis project.

Beyond, along the road, one can see green metal sheeting sealing the entrance to the community. It is a sunny day and the vegetation by the roadside is green and lush. Silvergrass along a pathway in an abandoned village in Taoyuan, Taiwan. A building on the left shows evidence of construction with red brick with cement masonry. A window or door is completely missing. Banyan trees colonizing an abandoned home in an old military dependents' village in Taoyuan, Taiwan. On the left is an entrance to what was once a kitchen or bathroom, as it is coated in white tile with a floral motif running along at eye level. Another overgrown laneway in an old military village in Taoyuan, Taiwan. All the doors and windows are missing from these houses.
