Thank you! :D

Yeah, it took quite some time. A friend of mine turned the background completely black on this one. I cannot even imagine how much time that took! (I did it on a few other worm pics and it took ages on those already haha).

But getting to see these creatures up close is very worth it!

I think, this is a Foraminifer and not a snail larva. They are brown algae like diatoms. That’s a really cool find! :D

Medieval Illuminated Manuscript Style? Haha
Quite unhinged, but I bet your interpretation would be amazing!

Example: This invertebran't

Photography stuff: The image is made up of close to 500 individual photos that were stacked and stitched together.
To shoot all of them without the worm moving, it was anaesthetised using MgCl₂. It was released back to where it was found once it was fully awake again.

Biology stuff: Phyllodoce lineata lives in sandy sediments and is a predator of other polychaete worms. It occurs in the North Eastern Atlantic Ocean. (This individual was found near Ferrol, Spain.)
40cm is the maximum reported length (Hartmann-Schröder) so this worm was probably fully grown.

I can’t open v2 on my laptop anymore. I just get a window taking me to the download for the new app. And closing it closes the whole program…

They still work on my iPad for now which is good because I use that to turn the background black.

But I really prefer to do everything else on my laptop…

I also have a fossilised snail (actually a lot of them if you count all the tiny fossilised snail in this stone)! I do not know what species it is nor how old the fossil is.
