On the MBA vs MBP question, I’d go back to what you’re likely to be doing.
If it’s a travel and leisure machine with some productivity/code, the air is more than enough.
The pro is mainly for *many* external displays, or large, continuous workloads (think games, large modsim, big compile jobs)

My opinions of Microsoft being what they are (“the best thing {they} sell is Linux servers”) I’d avoid windows.
If this is a machine to play *with*, lots of Linux options.
The best is likely going to be something like a FrameWork 14-16

What are your main constraints/workloads?
My unsurprising recommendation is going to be a 12-14inch MBA. Lovely little machines with great battery life and performance that’s disproportionately good.
Will you be using it for photo editing? Or mostly browsing?
