Last minute change to the CUBC men’s Blue Boat with Tom Macky being dropped to Goldie and Luke Beever stepping up. Also Simon Hatcher and Luca Ferraro swap seats (bow and 7). #TheBoatRace

So, with Juniors on Friday, seniors on Saturday and Masters on Sunday this has the makings of the biggest 3-day #rowing festival in Britain (& maybe Europe). Potentially over 1000 crews could race during the 3 days
Big changes for the Fours ahead 2025 with the split between senior and junior events. Should hopefully free up space for all senior crews to race that want to, and also that the junior event quickly establishes itself as a major event in the junior calendar fourshead.org/2025/04/08/c...

CUBC have named their reserve crews for #TheBoatRace the women’s reserve crew (Blondie) are coxed by Louis De Neve who, at 193cm, is the tallest in the crew and possibly the tallest cox to ever race in either reserves or Blue Boat

So a pet hate of mine (one of many as I get older and grumpier) why do clubs refer to their crews as 1V and 2V this makes me think they’re rowing a 5. It usually means “Varsity” which is a University team not a club….how hard is it to write 1st VIII instead??
