Some excellent graffiti in this dive bar bathroom.

I usually listen to full albums, so I rarely make playlists. I've also never once posted a story to social media, but if I did I'm sure it would include songs.

Oranssi Pazuzu - Muuntautuja

I love this band so much. I can't wait to see them at MDF next year. I never knew that black metal trip hop would be a thing I was into, but I can't get enough.

A new taco truck opened nearby, so my wife ordered us 25 tacos with salsa so spicy it would be illegal in Denmark. 6.5/10 overall, but 8.5/10 for the al pastor and salsas.

I ran into my favorite teacher at my work event this evening. I had her class from 1998-2000, and she still remembered me after all these years. You're the best Mrs. Barghols, thanks for teaching me it's OK to be weird as long as you're authentic

Audio engineering friends: do any of you have any real world experience with the Warm Audio EQP-WA? I'd love a hardware version of the Pultec EQP-1A, but I'm not willing/able to drop $4500 on one. GC has a used WA version avaliable, but I don't know how alike it really is

I'm enjoying a lovely Sunday afternoon with the family. Sitting in the cheap seats and watching OKC's third string beat up on the Pelicans

Last night's horror movie, my 31st for the month, was my all time favorite, Re-Animator.

Going to my friend's gigs this week have been very different experiences

Wednesday: Dischordia opening for BALTTW and Volcandra at a sketchy venue. Death fucking metal all night

Friday: My friend Dave playing cowboy chord cover songs on an acoustic at a snooty wine bar

New hoodie, and It's super comfortable. I have to say, I'm starting to agree with @theoriginalkep.bsky.social about Gildan cotton. Maybe they've gotten better recently, but I can't find anything wrong with this (or the Gildan Fleshgod Apocalypse shirt I got last year)

My favorite dorky Dads, Dischordia.

Volcandra

Some snippets from last night. Huge respect to BALTTW and Volcandra for giving it everything and performing like it was a full house despite the pitiful turnout.

How I'll be spending my evening tonight:

Tonight's movie is one I unapologetically love. It's not good, but I love it anyway. The Nu-Metal soundtrack, the one liners, the gratuitous overacting, and the cartoonish kills. It feels like the last of an era of old school slashers.
October 29, 2025 at 2:27 AM
Last night's movie selections were Weapons and The Witch. First time seeing either, and I enjoyed both. Robert Eggers is an absolute master of atmosphere.

So many tracks already, and I'm not even done reamping.

I got a surprise this morning. My wife just told me she bought us tickets to both Sick New World dates next year. She's not much for metal, but she'll spare no expense to see SOAD.

Every reamping session makes me even more excited about Fathomless II. I absolutely love the way it's coming together. So much so that I couldn't help but share a little work-in-progress teaser of the second song.

Last night's movie selection was Death of A Unicorn. It was OK. It felt like it couldn't make its mind up whether it wanted to be horror or comedy, and wound up not being enough of either. There were some fun gore scenes and a few genuine laugh out loud moments, but I doubt I'll watch it again.

Deranged sax solos are plentiful on my favorite Ihsahn album
October 21, 2025 at 7:23 PM
Holy shit. Out of curiosity, I went to Fodera's website to check out the specs on Anthony Jackson's signature bass, and it costs nearly $47,000 to have one built.

It's Sunday, so that means more reamping for Fathomless II. Today is the Bogner Shiva and Orange Rockerverb.
October 19, 2025 at 8:14 PM
Last night's movie selections were The Menu (2022) and Would You Rather (2013). You can never have too much Jeffrey Combs, and he's in peak form for Would You Rather. I'll also watch any movie where Ralph Fiennes plays a villain.
October 17, 2025 at 2:02 PM
Last night's Melvins show (my 5th) was the best one yet. They were super tight (unsurprisingly), Dale and Coady seemed to share one brain, and the setlist was chock full of my favorites. I will see this band live every chance I get until they quit.
