I'll give grudging credit to organizers for doing what we always ask orgs to do here in the U.S.: Prioritize the stadium atmosphere and filling the seats rather than holding fast at some ridiculous price point & ending up with 10,000 people in the seats.

For all the moaning on the bad place about MLS not opening up more spend, it has quietly actually done that- more flexibility on buy-outs, DP trades, and the 4U22+2m roster construction model, all quietly letting MLS Clubs add a lot of improvements to their rosters.
Since Messi arrived in MLS, many have accused the league of wasting a chance to grow.

1. Serious, stable front office staff are getting good value on player sales and reinvesting it in ready-to-perform talent. Probably the best day one performance of new talent I've seen in the league yet.

This is why calls to increase spending in MLS drive me crazy. MLS already spends competitively outside big 5, and will take a lot of $ to catch up. So needs to mature on the sporting side to make increase spending meaningful. Thankfully, we have seen lots of progress in this area.

Lots of very good players making over $1m in MLS, lots of very good players making less than $1m, but when people point to the salary cap holding the league back, I like to point out all the bad players making more than $3m.
