Farmers don’t want a bailout, and such things usually don’t cover their individual losses anyway. Last time, the money mostly went to the agriculture corporations and a lot of independent farmers lost millions, many committed suicide as a result.

I'm fully aware this bailout is "for 2024."
I also think that's nonsense- 2024 crop issues are already covered by crop insurance, disaster relief, etc.
There's only one real reason to throw more money at farmers right now, & that's a repeat of the trade wars + bailouts Trump did in his first term.

To be clear, this "bailout" is for crops that failed in 2024. It's not about tariffs or other trade issues that may or may not hurt farmers in the future. Your readers may not know that distinction, but you should.
