We're a not-for-profit organisation working with communities towards an Australia free from alcohol harms.
Today, we’ve launched a new report alongside VicHealth that explores how companies harvest and draw on millions of pieces of personal data to track, profile and target people with hyper-personalised online ads.

Thinking of cutting back or cutting out alcohol? Next time you're offered an alcoholic drink, try saying "I'm good!"

Because your decision doesn't need a big explanation.

Next week, we're launching a brand-new digital campaign that explores the positives - big and small - of making a change.

When alcohol becomes more available and accessible in the community through the spread of rapid home delivery and targeted online marketing, harms increase.

Today, a new Australian study of teenagers' attitudes has found the more strongly teenage boys hold rigid views about masculinity, the more likely they are to have consumed alcohol within the last 12 months.

Every boy should feel confident to grow up without feeling confined by narrow stereotypes of masculinity, including norms around alcohol.

When boys feel pressured to act tough, strong and stoic, this has potential to cause harm to themselves and others.

These harms are preventable.

Women and children in South Australia experience violence exacerbated by alcohol, every day. Premier Peter Malinauskas promised his government would look to pass changes to alcohol delivery laws before the state election.
November 4, 2025 at 11:49 PM
Across Australia, alcohol-induced deaths are at their highest in a decade and more people are requesting support for alcohol use than ever before.

Every state and territory must act on a pledge they made to introduce life-saving changes to their alcohol laws, so they keep up with the digital age.

Alcohol laws across the country have largely been slow to respond to a spike in rapid and late-night deliveries of alcohol into homes, when we know rates of violence increase as the night goes on.

FARE CEO Ayla Chorley spoke to ABC News earlier this week about the ACT becoming the first state or territory to introduce common-sense measures to help reduce violence towards women and children that’s exacerbated and intensified by alcohol. 🧵

South Australia now needs to act by passing their own laws, which were first proposed in a draft bill last year, before next year's state election.

Every day our leaders delay action on alcohol is another day where women and children experience greater harms.
October 21, 2025 at 1:44 AM
The ACT Government is the first in the country to table a bill addressing the rapid delivery of alcohol since all state and territory leaders promised in September last year to review their liquor laws, in response to the crisis of domestic and family violence.
October 21, 2025 at 1:44 AM
The evidence shows that the rapid delivery of alcohol increases the accessibility and availability of alcohol, which exacerbates and intensifies family and domestic violence.

Yet, it's still not properly regulated in most jurisdictions - and better regulation is long overdue.
October 21, 2025 at 1:44 AM
The ACT has just taken a leap forward in tackling alcohol's role in violence towards women and children.

Today, the ACT Government introduced a bill that acts on the impacts of rapid delivery of alcohol to homes.

Two months ago, Premier Peter Malinauskas promised his government would act on a recommendation from the South Australian Royal Commission into Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence to 'immediately' pass its proposed draft changes to alcohol laws.
October 15, 2025 at 5:05 AM
A two-hour safety pause, backed by victim survivors, the evidence and community, can reduce the rapid flow of alcohol into homes.

SA's government needs to live up to Premier Malinauskas' promise and legislate a two-hour safety pause this year, to help keep women and children safe.
October 9, 2025 at 2:00 AM
These are known factors in intensifying and exacerbating violence towards women and children.

State and territory alcohol laws are unfit for the digital age, but a two-hour 'safety pause' is a common-sense measure that can reduce these harms.

But without the right supports, they are at higher risk of engaging with the justice system.

Estimates are that up to one million Australians are currently living with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) - the equivalent of one child in every classroom.

Yet, many people have not even heard about this hidden disability, which often goes undiagnosed, or misdiagnosed.
