To start things off right I'll tell my favorite story in brief:

I was at a party with my rainbow NASA pin. Met a lady who asked me about it so I told her about myself and the work I was doing on the grant. She comes back later, much more drunk, and urgently asks "IS SPACE GAY???" Yes. Space IS gay

the neoliberals belive they can coopt the fervor agaisnt fascism and replace it with corporate crafted narratives andf theater when in reality that is just a continuation of the corrupt and anti demcoratic beliefs that have guided the movemnt for thirty plus years now.

its not conspiracy theory or doomerism as they claim when those of us on the acadmic and research side point this out its a statement of fact.

the democratic party and the centrists in the party at the national level are a fascist movement full stop.
The House voted 341 to 79 to fund Trump's war-mongering foreign policy agenda.

Only 57 Democrats voted NO.

The best part about Microsoft is that all of their products suck and every update makes them worse in a way you couldn't have even imagined.

Is anyone organizing here or is everyone all out of ideas after making those signs?

Logged in to this site, the Linked-In of the center-right, just to tell you all that it is *way* worse now. And even as a relative insider I can't rank this as among the worst things happening right now.
Not the main thing, but an Irish friend pointed out: NASA in particular is seen as representing a lot more than just the US—you see people of many nationalities walking around with a shirt with a GIANT LOGO OF AN ADMINISTRATIVE BRANCH OF A FOREIGN GOVERNMENT!!!

All. The. Time.

Just blow that up. 👍
Here's an e-mail that just went out to NASA agency wide. 🔭

Back in Ohio I always worked better at night. I thought shifting 3 hours to the west might help. It did not.

i don’t think democratic politicians understand the revolt their own base will create if they go forward and pass the republicans funding resolution today lol
Do the @democrats.senate.gov think I'm playing around. If they allow this power grab to go through, I'm done. I always thought 3rd party voters were selfish, but if the choice is between Nazis and Vichy collaborators, then they really ARE the same.

Looking at moving to a bigger apartment and it's insane how invasive the process is. I think I submitted more PII to some random lady than I did to the government for a whole background check and security investigation. Unless this condo contains state secrets I think I should get a pass on this one

People probably need to realize the reason republicans can’t be scared off trump and the fascism he is preaching is because they agree with him and the fascism he is preaching. The democrats need to understand you can’t out message fascists who have fully pulled away from democracy.

I get irrationally angry when people say "a is x times less than b" or any variation. We have fractions for a reason!

Still reeling over the tweet I cannot find over on the other site where someone pointed out that Christians are doing harvest festivals, the Christian alternative to Halloween, which was the Christian alternative to harvest festivals. Christians can have a little syncretism, as a treat.

You should get PTO for traveling to Halloween parties. The party was great, but I'll take my weekend now.

Two major issues with this site so far:
1. No invite codes yet so I can't pull people over from the old bad place
2. I can't figure out how to stop randos from following me
