Yes, we are all Belén. 😢
The movie Belén is Argentina’s International Feature Film entry for the upcoming Oscars. The true story follows Belén (a pseudonym), who is falsely imprisoned for having an abortion when she really had a miscarriage.
We Are All Belén
Belén is both a reminder and a warning: when abortion is criminalized, we risk harming anyone with a uterus, and it’s already happening.

Got the dreaded ”we see something unusual on your mammogram results” phone call yesterday. Went back in this morning for another mamo and ultrasound. The radiologist looked at everything and said “You’re all clear!”
Women, stay up on your yearly mamo. It’s not fun but it can save your life.

the #BikeBus shows how safety in numbers gives kids the chance to ride, learn, and build confidence on streets that would not feel safe alone. Protected bike lanes, diverters, and street designs that separate children from cars are what make this joy possible every day, not just on Bike Bus days.

As both a teacher and a parent, I see every day how challenging it can be for families to figure out how to give their children real freedom in the world. Again and again, the #BikeBus shows me that it is one of the best tools we have for scaffolding independence.

Conservatives are panicking that working women have ruined everything, writes @polphilpod.bsky.social. “This discourse may not seem intellectually serious—and it isn’t—but that doesn’t mean it won’t make it to our shores.”
Has ‘the great feminisation’ theory arrived in the UK?

Today the news will be about the government's proposals for juries.

Please read this thread so as to be informed about the actual practical problems in the criminal justice system - problems which will not be solved by this misconceived and illiberal tinkering.
Here is a list of reasons why some of my hearings and trials this year have been delayed and kicked off into the long grass, stuck in our record court backlog. Serious allegations which will now be tried *years* after the event. 🧵👇

All this budget news, claims, counter claims is confusing, but two things of consequence.

1. We're all talking about that, not any financial benefits (or losses) of the budget.

2. Yet more focus on the very weird few weeks and politics of it all. Starting to feel dangerously like a norm.
