Had a whole gaggle of students ask me at the end of class this morning what hair products I use and it’s possibly the best compliment I’ve ever received from a group of students 😂 curly haired friends will KNOW

The hypocrisy from Trump's FCC Chair is staggering but unsurprising.

It should be clear by now that to MAGA, protecting freedom of speech was always secondary to wielding the power to punish anyone who questions this regime.

So today I did a cool thing… I taught Group Piano 1 in both English and Spanish.

It was hard and scary and imperfect but I did it! By week 16 it should be easier I hope!

Started around the age of 14-15, I used to take the metro alone downtown to the Smithsonians. I never once felt unsafe traipsing from the national mall to Penn quarter (portrait gallery and old spy museum were my faves)

This is fascist bullshit.
Stephen Miller on DC residents: "For the first time in their lives, they can use the parks, they can walk on the streets. You have people who can walk freely at night without having to worry about being robbed or mugged. They are wearing their watches again."

Fun fact: our eldest dog, Lili, is named after her ❤️🐶🐾
Today is Lili Boulanger’s 193rd birthday.

If I could give 5 more years of life to any composer (just thinking of their additional musical output), it would have to be her.

She died at just 24 but still wrote some of the best music of the early 20th c.

a new fleet of deportation planes is a perfect example of the kind of GOP horror that necessitates more drastic reform than just electing a normie Dem for president - someone who might hang onto that fleet and maybe just use them a little less, rather than wholly disavow and repurpose them for good
BREAKING: DHS Secretary Kristi Noem is pushing for ICE to use funds to buy, own and operate its own fleet of airplanes to deport immigrants, two sources familiar with the discussions tell NBC News.
Kristi Noem is pushing for ICE to buy and operate a fleet of deportation planes, sources say
Former officials say that if ICE owned its own planes, it could double the number of people it deports each month. But it would be costly.

if only there was something one could do to prevent getting measles in the first place.
As the US hits a 33-year high in measles infections, there is now a "race" to find a treatment for the disease.

One pharma company "is banking on a continuing decline in vaccination rates to fuel a need for measles treatments—and in turn, more investor interest"

The Race to Find a Measles Treatment as Infections Surge
The measles vaccine was so effective the disease was considered eliminated in the U.S., but a resurgence of outbreaks is spurring a need for drugs.

the amount of imperfection people are willing to put up with from Bernie (and I like him!) compared to the amount of imperfection they are willing to put up with Warren is so obviously gendered. she's one of the best Dems in the Senate and one of the few that understands the aesthetics of fighting.
it's weird how people shit on one of the most left-wing members of the Senate

Over the last year, I’ve been working really hard on paying off my grad school credit card debt.

This week I received a mailer from discover letting me know I hadn’t made a purchase in over 6 months and I’d need to make one soon to keep my card active 😂😂😂

Last year, Direct File saved taxpayers $5.6 million in tax preparation costs by allowing people to file their taxes for FREE.

That’s why tax preparation companies like TurboTax and Intuit lobbied to get rid of it.

Trump just gave them their wish.

I NEED to tell you the story of Tae Heung “William” Kim.

He's a graduate student at Texas A&M where he's working on a vaccine for Lyme disease.

He's a *legal permanent resident* of the United States.

And he's been in ICE detention for 12 days & counting, transferred Tuesday to South Texas.

Ok so my mom hates Kamala Harris and Hilary Clinton and thinks Elon Musk is “the greatest mind of his generation”

But in conversation, she is still a democrat ideologically and policy-wise (for the most part) which I find really confusing.

I went to the pool with my sister and niece the other day. While there, I was sitting with my sister and another woman when a man walked by and said “you ladies are looking great, keep doing what you’re doing” with the OK sign.

I just want to exist in public without being sexualized.
