The Atlantic should be ashamed of publishing this nightmare piece from Liz Bruenig, whose callous dismissal of Adriana Smith's dignity is one of the most shocking things I've ever read.

Even a corpse in the morgue has rights - you can't harvest its organs or donate it to science without consent of the family or prior consent from the deceased. To say her choice is irrelevant because she is no longer making choices is appalling. Pregnant women now have less rights than the dead.

Anti-abortion measures deny pregnant women the bodily autonomy we grant the dead. No one, even a corpse, can be forced to be an organ donor, no matter the lives that could be saved. But a pregnant woman is expected to donate her blood supply, at not inconsiderable risk, to a potential person.

Before you ask what I think we should do, please take a look at my work & words over the past years: container gardening, Infosec, organizing, building offline/online communities, re-educating ourselves/other, boycotting & divesting, our own businesses - it's all to build literal People power.
