racism is just a manifestation of tribalist instincts that humans and other animals share intrinsically. But specific beliefs, like certain people are god's chosen, are taught. And even though the instinct isn't, it is fuelled and encouraged by b*llshit like eugenics, religion and other catalysts.

Not to mention the white nationalists, who 1) believe Jews are conspiring to replace them with brown migrants and 2) think Jews aren’t culturally compatible with them, taking full advantage of this cynical use of “antisemitism”. 3/3

The “woke” left is often criticised for the use of these exact kinds of baseless racism accusations. Except the woke left, generally speaking, is not doing so in pursuit of a murderous foreign policy agenda. 2/3

Cynically using the ‘antisemitic’ charge against opponents of Israel’s policies renders the charge meaningless. It has the ‘boy who cried wolf’ effect and hurts the actual fight against antisemitism and racism. 1/3

If it’s anti-Semitic to criticise Israel for war crimes or apartheid, it’s anti-Black to criticise Uganda for its anti-gay laws and anti-Muslim to criticise Afghanistan’s treatment of women.

I recently learned of a phenomenon called “other people”. The deeper I delved, the more I realised that these “others” were somewhat different from way I am. I was aghast. Their existence meant that I was not the arbiter of human nature. That I could only speak for one - myself, not all.

What do you mean by “what”? What do you mean by “do”? What do you mean by “you”? What do you mean by “mean”? What do you mean by “by”? - #JordanPeterson

Oct 7 attacks on Israelis were an act of ‘terrorism’. Today, Israel’s actions in Gaza are a ‘genocide’. Just like I didn’t care for those who’d described the former as “resistance”, I don’t care for those who say the latter is just a “war”. I don’t conform to mandated verbiage by either side.

Rounding up migrants, legal and illegal, without due process or even charges of any kind is fascistic. Detaining migrants with valid visas at ports of entry is fascistic. Governments of other liberal democracies issuing warnings to their citizens about traveling to your country, makes you fascistic.

The Biden White House *helped draft* the TikTok ban that the Biden promised he'd sign, Biden lobbied to have congress pass the ban via stuffing it into HR 815, a military funding bill, Biden bragged about the ban passing, and then Biden defended the ban in the courts for months.

Can’t help but think of Hugo Boss in the second quarter of the 20th century when today #OscarDeLaRenta is dressing Usha Vance and Ivanka Trump. Not saying those two things are the same but there are some interesting parallels.
From Hillbilly Elegy to the White House.

It’s wild when you think about it.

And while many Democrats were skeptical of his book (some weren’t), I don’t think anyone would have predicted this back in 2016.

To me, there’s no fundamental difference between changing your mind on politics for money and doing so over personal grievances. Your politics should be rooted in something meaningful, your core values and principles that aren’t easily subject to amendment. #TYT

Since Leon likes to call them X posts over on his platform, is he able to free up “tweet”? I don’t know, #bluweet is not working for me. It’s not as natural-sounding as #tweet. And I can hear Regina George’s voice in my head saying “stop trying to make bluweet happen”.

Sometimes I think of a clever tweet (bluweet? what are we calling them on here?) about something that’s unfolding in the news but never post it because by the time I get to it, people have moved on to another thing. Lucky for me, this one is evergreen. #Bluweet

🧵 The rise of biofuel-reliant predatory machines that brought an end to civilisation in #HorizonZeroDawn sort of served as a metaphor for capitalism. Corporations, by design, ought to maximise profit, grow consistently, buy up competition, skirt around regulations and prop up favourable politicians.
