The heavy rain is late, but it's still coming. More than an inch has fallen in the L.A. area and parts of Orange County. #sandiegoweather #CAwx

All of southwestern California is under a flood watch. In San Diego County, we should have mostly light showers until late tonight. That’s when it gets interesting. Rain is expected to become heavy, & thunderstorms are possible. Showers into Sunday, then more rain next week. #sandiegoweather #CAwx

Getting some rain at 8:45 p.m. here in inland North County. Not hard, but it’s a nice sound. Heavy stuff expected late Friday and Saturday, likely more than a couple of inches total. #sandiegoweather #CAwx

Usual reminder for San Diego County homeowners: If you have an automatic sprinkler system, you can save some money and water by turning it off and leaving it off for a long while. Forecasters expect a good, wet weekend, and more rain looks likely next week. #sandiegoweather #CAwx

California is getting and will continue to get A LOT of moisture dumped on it the next few days. The weather service says widespread rainfall will reach the southwestern corner of the state Friday night and continue through Saturday night. #sandiegoweather #CAwx

The approaching storm looks stronger & later. San Diego County has a chance of showers late tonight, but it looks like the heavy stuff will come late Friday & Saturday. The weather service says the valleys could get 1.5-2 inches Saturday alone, & the mountains could get 3-4. #sandiegoweather #CAwx

Some spots in Northern California have seen pretty good 24-hour rainfall totals, and more moderate to heavy rain is expected up there today, plus strong winds and possibly thunderstorms. #CAwx

Sometimes, the clouds are in place for a good sunrise or sunset, but somehow the light just isn’t right to produce color. That wasn’t the case this morning here in inland North County. No disappointment today. #sandiegoweather #CAwx

My son was up early this morning to capture this sunrise stunner over Denver. Today should be a good day to keep eyes on the skies in San Diego County, too, as clouds move in in advance of a prolonged stormy stretch that could begin Thursday night. #sandiegoweather #CAwx
