That fight was absolutely incredible, maybe the 2nd best ever for the 170-lb title, which is saying a lot, and Belal is half the reason for that. We are now obligated to remember the name.
No one loves hating on Belal more than me, but I can't even bring myself to do it. He's too tough, too game, and he has improved too much. I feel compelled to, begrudgingly, respect that.

It occurred to me that in all the crazy foot chase scenes I’ve seen in movies or TV I don’t think I have ever seen someone collapse or get caught just from exhaustion. Has no one tried all out panic sprinting for longer than ten or twenty seconds? It’s virtually impossible.

I got that dog in me. Inside you there are two wolves. My buddy AJ houses a pack of dholes. They are smaller and less hierarchical than wolves but he’s got like 40 of them in there.

I got annoyed that so many people believe humans are the best long distance runners earth that I’ve spent the last few weeks scouring the literature on animal endurance and to be honest it is a lot closer than I would have thought. I want to do like a threat about it but it would be too long

One persistent myth I see repeated is that humans are the best long distance runners on earth; that our ancestors could tire any prey out by sheer endurance. It isn’t remotely true. One ultrarunner spent five years trying to run down pronghorn antelope to prove this. He never got close.

Saw folks speculating on fictional characters who could resist the One Ring, a bunch of folks mentioned Sam Vimes, forgetting we basically saw this play out with the gonne in Men at Arms. Vimes could have resisted it for a short time but it would have destroyed him. The real answer is Carrot.
