One would think actually talking to rich people or even folks with PhDs would help because outside of their chosen field or business they are usually no smarter than anyone else. Even adjacent fields. A psychologist I knew had wildly uninformed views on raising kids. Not his area.

These conversations also remind me of trying to find good MMA analysis and it was like “Frankie Edgar has A+ boxing because he beat BJ Penn and Ben Henderson only has B+ boxing” and then Jack Slack came along and started talking about specific habits fighters have and it was a revelation.

How else could he see the field so well? Must be a vision expert

I forget who, might have been Ben Fowlkes, said it would be a huge improvement on this discourse if we thought of intelligence like we think of sports skills. No one thinks Messi would make a champion swimmer or even a good defender or goalie in his own sport.
