I think the way fanfic genre tropes and categories are used in mainstream marketing now is eminently lame. Not because association with fanfic is lame but because of the co-opting of language used to help navigate private and often subversive spaces is now just another sales marketing tool.

My biggest pet perve is how greek and roman mythologies get anglo saxonyfied so often and it’s always in such a boring, pop way. It’s like they think the mediterranean cultures don’t exist anymore

On top of the “the curtains are blue” discourse being anti intellectualism, why don’t people love thinking about symbolism and allegory? I always add it in fic and originals and I looove finding it in other people’s works

Finished up an important thing and delivered it two days ago, but now summer is nearly over and after spening most of my vacations working (without pay) and angry at the world without possibility of escapism, I am ready to go insane. Didn’t even manage to finish my other big project.

People are so starved for whimsy that KDH is number one on ntflx forever. Not a diss btw, I enjoyed the movie fine (I am not the target audience anyway) it delivered exactly what was on the tin and wasn’t afraid of what the public might think about it. Also proves that people DO love musicals lol

How do people have the energy to make new stuff all the time for AA. I go to very few events and I always struggle as of late. All my energy goes into making stories or comics too which take a long time bc I can never be normal about stories.
