in exchange, companies now have to stop gouging you on the premise that the average person doesnt drink too much

the ban is bad for consumers. instead of being able to get 3 refills of hot chocolate you now have to get 3 seperate hot chocolates. but, at the same time, these refills arent actually necessary, and it will lower the price of individual products

syrup systems and powdered hot chocolate are CHEAP. EXTREMELY CHEAP. it is incredibly difficult to actually ever cost a company using a free refill product, and because its a refill product, the cost is inflated.

the profit on refill products, like coke or hot chocolate is proportional to how many you consume. the deal looks good - a certain price for an infinite amount. but ultimately it works in the favour of whoevers selling it

is the political party:
a. going to get police officers to arrest me for existing
b. going to hunt me down in the streets
c. putting forward a bill that isnt going to genuinely impact me, but represents symbolic pushes against my rights and panders to antilgbt nutjobs.
knowing that calms minds

those "headline lies", where the true impact of a policy (like the furries act) is never explained, for people who's only political concern is whether theyre going to be arrested for existing, that stuff can be horrifying if its not given proper context

admittedly anecdotal, but ive encountered so many misleading headlines from leftwing sources posted by people with a focus on social issues like lgbt rights and deia that leftwing sites treat like culture war issues rather than presenting actual impact and explanation
