THE ACCOUNTABILITY ARCHIVE A HOW TO GUIDE FOR THE DIGITAL ARCHIVING OF SUPPORT FOR GENOCIDE WHY CREATE A DIGITAL ARCHIVE? All across the globe, people are feeling helpless and despondent as they watch the daily atrocities being carried out against the Palestinian people. While public support for a ceasefire soars, politicians, journalists, and public figures continue to support and provide cover for the ethnic cleansing. As with the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan before, when the full scale of the horror is revealed, they will try to distance themselves from their current words. It is vitally important we archive posts, articles, and statements promoting genicide for posterity to hold them all to account. The Accountability Archive has created a simple form to empower ordinary individuals help document the complicity of their leaders from the comfort of their own homes. WHAT EVIDENCE ARE WE LOOKING FOR? Journalistic malfeasance in the form of misleading or false reporting. • Support for collective punishment or other war crimes. • Encouragement for Israel to use excessive force/to harm civilians. • Castigation of Palestinians/protestors as terrorist sympathisers • Defamation of those supporting the Palestinian people and/or a ceasefire. • Arguments for forced displacement of the Palestinian people into Egypt • Deeming civilian infrastructure a legitimate target NOTE: We are NOT looking for evidence of war crimes themselves. HOW TO ARCHIVE EVIDENCE. 1 Document: When you have identified evidence you think fits the above, take note of who said it, where it was said, what was the context, and what date it was posted or said. Take note of bylines, media outlets, and platforms. 2 Save: Take screenshots of the whole page or download video evidence. If applicable, copy the link to the post, statement, or article into a webpage capture site like archive.today and save this link. If you can save all of this on a physical and/or cloud backup. 3 Archive: Access the Accountability Archive's form through the link in our bio and submit all the evidence you have collected. Be accurate, factual, concise, and non-emotive when archiving. Your personal details will not be published in the data set. HOW WILL THE ARCHIVE BE USED? Once we have been able to secure, anonymise, back up the data set, we will work to make it publicly available. Our aim is for it to be used by future historians, journalists, and researchers in understanding the current ethnic cleansing, as well as how those in positions of power played a role. Rainbow Community Angels WILL NOT BE CANCELLED! We stand resolute in the face of the awful extreme homophobic, biphobic and transphobic hate and vilification experience by the library staff, council workers and the performer over the past three weeks. On Friday, antifascists confronted the far-right ‘Australia One’ party’s anti-trans rally in Treasury Gardens, who young LGBTQIA+ people erased from schools. Key leaders, surprised and pissed off, ran to the aid of police who later were poised to pepper spray antifascists. On Saturday, antifascists disrupted at first the pro-Trump faction of the dregs of the far-right, anti-LGBTIQ+, antisemitic covid denialists who rally every Saturday. A fascist violently attacked a passer-by and police pepper sprayed them both. Cops then delayed first aiders seeking to provide support decontaminating the passer-by. Background of people blurred holding the banner 'END ANTI-TRANS QUEER VIOLENCE. FIGHT FOR LIBERATION. SMASH RAINBOW CAPITALISM', with the following text: Second, we confronted a mostly offline organised anti-LGBT rally trying to build multi-faith reaction against young trans and queer people in the Western suburbs. We outnumbered them and limited their rally. However, there was disturbing cross-pollination here with members of both the pro-Trump and anti-Trump factions of far-right Saturday protests, including against the Drag expo, and some attendees of Friday’s Australia One anti-trans rally. Power to everyone organising wherever you are to end racist, anti-trans, anti-queer violence. The fight for liberation comes from below not from the state whose police uphold oppressive state violence and stand against us confronting people organising against our existence. We have to build multi-struggle solidarity against the colonial state and rainbow capitalism.
