I've been saying for nearly a year now that the current trend in indie publishers becoming hyper risk-averse will rapidly make them obsolete and project funding without publishing services is the reason why 🧵
I've had three people now say got funding from content creators not publishers. Publisher money is tight but that seems to be quietly opening the door to a whole new line of capital flow.
It makes sense, creators getting older, making a lot of money, having different goals than trad pubs...
