The little one to the right will be like the big fatty on the left in a few days. This photo is from yesterday; today the fat boy is hanging motionless upside-down on a nearby plant. Tomorrow it'll be a cocoon for sure.

Darned the hole in the armpit of one of my favorite sweaters. Not good; pretty lumpy and bumpy, but the first time I'd tried this technique and it's my favorite sweater, so I'm happy.

Big yearbook. I can't read Cyrllic but from the contents it seems to be a yearbook of the Russian community in Shanghai in the 1930's. It got damp and the pages got stuck together but not catastrophically so, luckily. Clay-coated paper can get 'blocked' if wet and it's permanent. #morningdesk

3/11 Russian publication, don't know what exactly but the owner says the important part is the artist who made this pictorial cover. I will be re-sewing the signatures so you can actually read the thing but I don't think the owner actually cares about that! #morningdesk

You can see that the volume's been bound by threads going vertically through the stack of signatures; those threads have been taken out and the signatures are now loose. There is a small metal box with needles, binder clips and a lump of beeswax above the stack of signatures.

3/10 Not dustjackets! I don't actually know what this is: it's a periodical, in Russian, from 1919, and it has occasional words printed in Hebrew and a map of Palestine labeled in I assume Russian. It came to me unbound and I'm binding it. #morningdesk

3/7 more dustjackets. Someone's working through a Nero Wolfe/Rex Stout collection, clearly. It's fun to see a bunch of late 40's to mid-50s djs all from the same series of books. This is 3 of 9 I did today, mending, cleaning, inpainting. #morningdesk
More dustjackets, spread out on a desk with weights and a gauzy layer of spun-bonded polyester. The three dustjackets are all Rex Stout/Nero Wolfe titles; we can see two, Before Midnight and And Be A Villian. The third dustjacket is face-down so the title can't be seen.
