Caught the very last of the Monarch cocoons and was able to get the timelapse video I'd been hoping for! (the big moment is 15 seconds in; in real life this was almost 30 minutes)

Love the Maxfield Parrish vibe of your colors here

The little one to the right will be like the big fatty on the left in a few days. This photo is from yesterday; today the fat boy is hanging motionless upside-down on a nearby plant. Tomorrow it'll be a cocoon for sure.

Monarch just emerged from its cocoon yesterday, working on uncrumpling its wings

those mikes always make me think of the wool dauber things that come with a bottle of leather dye

Posting these around my neighborhood. The plastic bags are $2.25 for 50 at Daiso. Thank you Megan! @meganpiont.bsky.social

It's been an issue on the left for as long as I've been alive, for sure. "Join our movement and these cute females will open their legs for you" barf barf barf.

1980. Perfect except for the n-word, which they don't say anymore when they're performing.

Trump will have to be visibly weaker with his base before Vance risks his (literal) neck

The leaders at the protest were savvy: raise your hands if you own a Tesla/raise your hands if you own Tesla stock/raise your hands if you're in Calpers/Calsters. Guess what? Folks in that last group: you DO own Tesla stock!

The vote is today, May 7

It's this very fine sparkly tinsel that get tied to individual hairs so that you have little gleams and glints interspersed with your real hair

Okay, my brain went to the books about clans of feral cats that my kids used to read and my band names all had to do with being able to lick one's own nuts, sorry

Darned the hole in the armpit of one of my favorite sweaters. Not good; pretty lumpy and bumpy, but the first time I'd tried this technique and it's my favorite sweater, so I'm happy.

It gets worse; there's an Eggo-flavored alcohol called Brunch in a Jar. Sippin' Cream, yeah! with the apostrophe and all

They had some fun in Shanghai apparently! #morningdesk

Big yearbook. I can't read Cyrllic but from the contents it seems to be a yearbook of the Russian community in Shanghai in the 1930's. It got damp and the pages got stuck together but not catastrophically so, luckily. Clay-coated paper can get 'blocked' if wet and it's permanent. #morningdesk

3/11 Russian publication, don't know what exactly but the owner says the important part is the artist who made this pictorial cover. I will be re-sewing the signatures so you can actually read the thing but I don't think the owner actually cares about that! #morningdesk

3/10 Not dustjackets! I don't actually know what this is: it's a periodical, in Russian, from 1919, and it has occasional words printed in Hebrew and a map of Palestine labeled in I assume Russian. It came to me unbound and I'm binding it. #morningdesk

3/7 more dustjackets. Someone's working through a Nero Wolfe/Rex Stout collection, clearly. It's fun to see a bunch of late 40's to mid-50s djs all from the same series of books. This is 3 of 9 I did today, mending, cleaning, inpainting. #morningdesk
