NY Giants beat reporter for Newsday. Previous stops: LA Daily News, The Commercial Appeal + more. We’ve moved on up to a new house in the (blue) sky?
So good. An incredible comedian but also a fun actor to watch work.

Every year “Her” becomes prophecy instead of just a movie.

I heard Roger Craig might show up since Harry Carson is roaming around somewhere.

One of the things I do miss escaping Central time zone. Trust me.

That makes a ton of sense. One changed the game, the other might have sounded a bit better? But I still think The Chronic from a sonic standpoint is 1 of the best engineered records of all time - I copped it on vinyl in 2019 or 2020 and it was so clean revisiting/hearing those songs.

Fair. I remember 2001 being everywhere in LA for a full two years straight. It was huge and a big part of my HS listening memories.

But Chronic - when I finally heard it on some great speakers in 2018? My view on that album changed dramatically to make it what everyone says it is

I had never heard of this song until I looked at the 2020 Hot 100 lists and saw it. Cause I had no clue M.I.A. was a part of a No. 1 hit.
All these #1s Travis got and they feel like empty calories except Sicko Mode. But I was glad to see how you revisited Astroworld + the strange comeback.

For sure. That all makes sense. I’m still going to read it because he’s proven himself with his work. Just to see what he uncovers. And I’m just glad that it reminds me of what you did and others he also researched.

It won’t be perfect but nothing is. Good and fair is more than fine with me.

That's a deep cut, there.

Glad you were there, my guy. I'm happy to read his book but even happier that you've approved given all the work you've done on Pac

Indeed. I think there’s always better ways (and metaphors) to make a point about shared suffering. Many have done it. It’s just being mindful.

After I saw BTS got a chapter in your book, I was waiting to see how you'd tackle them. Will read later but I'm wondering if they're the most significant chart breakthrough this decade given that K-Pop has been so popular

For sure. And I didn't remember it in real time either. Just found out after the fact. The song/video/message is phenomenal - but it's like John Lennon and Yoko Ono doing that song "Woman in the Ni---r of the World". I get and support the feminist message behind it. Just the title seems a bit much

Yep. Mike was making a larger point about how he felt was being treated by comparing himself to other victims of oppression but Sony cut those lyrics out. Thankfully, I’ll add. (Great song despite that).

This is a gross perversion of what he said though.
