Huh. I found an explanation, but I don't much like it. "Incumbent" to me means, the person that previously held this seat is running for it again.

Obviously, this doesn’t mean the party didn’t win the last time, but we need to calculate who would have won with the new boundaries in place in order to make meaningful comparisons between elections."

Petrusich: Swift is too practiced and savvy to ever really make a “bad” record. (So is Max Martin, incidentally—they are both virtuosos of the form.) If you are a connoisseur of pop music, you will surely find things to enjoy here; but if, say, Sonic Youth is your favorite band, I’d probably keep it moving. Mostly, I think she sounds stuck. Maybe it’s healthy that Travis Kelce is not proving to be her muse, but I found myself hungry for a new, more mid-thirties-ish point of view. That she calls out his podcast by name in a song about his sexual prowess is hilarious.

I did the thing and filed a claim. Gonna be honest, I don't have the bandwidth to figure out if I should be opting out or filing an objection instead - I know that's probably what they're counting on, but I am where I am. $1500 feels like an insult, and I don't even know for sure I'll get that. 🤷‍♀️🙃

Heya, if you're a Kindle user in North America, I've just been informed that the U.S. edition of my first book is gonna be $3 on there for all of April. That's like half the price of a latte!

It was a beautiful day to get the kicksled out on McClintock Bay.
A small sled called a kicksled sits on a wide cleared path on the frozen surface of a lake. The sled, which is like a small dogsled generally powered by its user standing on the runners and kicking off (though you can also attach a sled dog or two), has a small seat where the big sled bag would be on a full-size dogsled, a side mirror, and a backpack hanging from the handlebars. There are snowy mountains in the background.
