Local football fans are organizing a makeshift Vilnius-Tallinn sleeper train by hiring one from LTG Link. These are Russian "kupe" cars with fold out beds currently used on a daytime service to Klaipėda.

We travelled in the opposite direction about a week ago in a 4-person couchette room. We also had problems with maintaining a consistent temp. I had my Aranet4 with me and something weird happened in the middle of the night. It seems like the climate control simply cut off for a few hours.

So it's official, by 2030:
- Rail Baltica will be mostly single track;
- Riga and Vilnius won't be connected by standard gauge;
- Kaunas Central will be connected by upgrading the existing single track;
- Panevėžys station will be outside the city in the middle of nowhere.

Narrow gauge Aukštaitijos Siaurukas is all festive this time of year. Didn’t get to ride it sadly.

She has the play area all to herself. We’re the only kids on this fully booked child-friendly carriage.
