They should not have attended. Not one Democrat should have been in that room to listen to his propaganda, which is completely divorced from reality. Dems keep supporting the “norms”, while the Republicans dismantle them with the Dems watching.

@chrismurphyct.bsky.social why are you not posting on here first ? You have some great things to say. You are trying some great things. Yet you post on X where 100pct of the replies are meaningless and hateful.

It's not all roses here, but the engagement has depth and real convos happen

The uneducated are the problem. They don’t know what they don’t know. They can’t connect the dots of cause and effect, especially when the effects may not be felt for years. And they are too proud to admit that they are uneducated. Educating them is the solution, even against their will.

Getting kind of sick of hearing how we are sitting around doing nothing to stop the wholesale destruction of our federal government. Someone tell me what to do. Like specifics. What more can I do?

I know Macroeconomics is complicated but can some expert explain how if beef and pork are less exported due to retaliatory trade tariffs, wouldn’t there be a surplus of those products domestically causing an oversupply and driving down the price of beef and pork domestically?

Money is the only true God to which these people pray and is ultimately going to be the only tool to stop them. If they continue to impound the legislatively appropriated funding, perhaps the People need to stop funding them: a coordinated, massive, tax strike.

News outlets should start including state education ranking data after they identify a politician, their party, and State. Eg, the bill was sponsored by Senators Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas, 47th in education) and Katie Britt (R-Alabama, 46th in education). You know, just to help explain the context.

Frankly, I’m way more concerned about the influence and mind control of Fox News on the uneducated voter than I am about some vaguely defined influence of a foreign country through dance videos.

Merrick Garland’s inaction may have ended democracy in the United States. But at least he’ll always have his norms.

So ABC News is currently live streaming the United States Senate Hearing on the confirmation of Kristi Noem to be the United States Secretary of Homeland Security on an app that is allegedly a threat to our very existence. It is really too bad that irony can’t generate electricity.

If TikTok was truly a threat to National security then 40+ members of Congress would not still be using the app while they wait for a ban to go into effect. If it was truly a threat they would have stopped as soon as they understood the threat. This is about, as always, money and power.

It is ridiculous that we are talking about making Canada a state. It should be at least 4 states.

The contradictory ideas that a person is only worth how hard they are willing to work at menial tasks while simultaneously harnessing technology to ease the need for human labor is not sustainable and is going to lead to revolution.

Do Republican Congressmen even feel cognitive dissonance? If reducing the deficit/debt is really your goal, how do you also blindly take orders from Vice President Trump, whose policies will once again explode the deficit and debt? Perhaps Ralph Norman could explain?

Is something wrong with conservative teenagers? Are they really telling on their teachers for assigning books? If I was told not to read something, that was the first thing I wanted to read. Do we need some sort of underground library to get these kids banned books?

Ramaswamy says “American culture has venerated mediocrity over excellence for way too long”, while his bosses and their lackeys continue to attack higher education. Perhaps, if you don’t like mediocrity stop telling your followers not to go to college.

Do you think anyone on the Right recognizes that the fight between the tech Right and MAGA over high skilled immigration is only a thing because they have convinced half the Country that college education is a liberal indoctrination program?

To break the gridlock and fix the ineffectiveness of Congress, it needs to be bigger and more representative of the people. We need more Senators, and the House needs to be much, much larger than it is.

Now is the time for Democrats to agree to end the filibuster. Buckle up, let them do their worst, and perhaps some of those uneducated Republican voters will feel some pain and learn. Then, when it flips back, as it inevitably will, Democrats can actually fix something.
