Today, I took $24 in cash out of my right pocket, combined it with $14 I found in my dryer, and put it all in my left pocket, together with my lucky silver dollar that is worth $640, probably. My pants are now worth $678 at least.

Why on earth would the left want to help Republicans who won by small margins?!? Those are seats that are most ripe for the picking, assuming there are actually elections in 2026. Please, please, please don’t help them get reelected.

Seriously…what can they do? They are the minority in both houses. The only thing they can do is filibuster in the senate which is ridiculously anti-democratic and the left should not be supporting it. The People need to take action. There’s nothing the minority party can do.

Democrats need to stop evoking Republicans in their messaging. Kamala’s love affair with the horrible Liz Cheney cost us votes. Idolizing the horrible Reagan because he is, in hindsight, more palatable than Trump is pathetic. We need to project strength.

Could not agree more. They call the left weak, and then we continually look weak, only encouraging them to call us weak more often and louder. We need someone to stand up to them with strength.

I don’t see anything in this conversation about laughing at or mocking them. Just a sense of happiness that perhaps they have finally learned. And I hope this has been the education that they need to truly change their thinking.

So how do you suggest getting these voters to turn back to the Democrats? All I am suggesting is that perhaps letting them learn some harsh lessons is necessary. Convincing them with logic and rational explanations clearly failed.

Let me start over. I have read about the paradox of tolerance and I believe that part of the problem with the tolerant in these trying times is that they extend tolerance to the intolerant. I get why. It’s hard for the tolerant to be intolerant, but it is necessary for the survival of tolerance.

I have kids who rarely need grounding. They were raised to respect and care for everyone. They don’t do things that require punishment very often.

Ugh. Enough with “the framers”. Our current government looks nothing like what the framers intended. Why have we dismantled their vision and then constantly look to them for guidance?

Sometimes the only way to education is through actual learned experience. It is not a lack of empathy to feel glad that people are learning even if they had to learn the hard way. In fact, is is a form of empathy to be glad they are finally learning.
