One thing I’d like to call out:

A 24% tariff on Japan is idiotic.

A 37% tariff on Bangladesh is _evil_. We are their largest trading partner. Their economy depends on textile exports. The consequences of this will be horrific. And for what? So in 20 years we’ll have more textile mills?

On the 31st of December, 2021, on what people are calling the old site (or the hellsite), I tweeted:

"John Harbaugh is an Order Muppet.

Jim Harbaugh is a Chaos Muppet.

Thank you for coming to my TED Talk."

More proud of this than anything else I've posted on social media.

Putin has no real options for nuclear use, no matter how hard he thumps his chest. And the history of nuclear crises - and there aren't many - is not that they happen because one side has decided on war, but because of miscalculations that have to be walked back.

Nuclear attack unlikely despite Putin's warnings, US intelligence says
The U.S. decision to allow Ukraine to fire American weapons deeper into Russia has not increased the risk of a nuclear attack, which is unlikely, despite Russian President Vladimir Putin's increasingly bellicose statements, five sources familiar with U.S. intelligence told Reuters.

Uma. Loves tummy rubs and yelling at rodents. Earthly Avatar of "No Take, Only Throw". Complete Chaos Muppet. Roots for the Joker (and whatever team Jim Harbaugh is coaching) to win. Even smarter than she looks, and she looks like she knows what's going on, but wants everyone to think she doesn't.

Reason, Noah Smith, etc. are citing an exit poll showing 65% of Native Americans voted Trump. It's nonsense. Reservations aren't included in exit polling. It's a tiny sample (about 200) of self-identified NAs at non-reservation sites.

Natives are rarely represented in Exit Polls because there's no Exit Poll organization driving 500 miles to a remote Reservation to conduct a survey.

Proud to share my first NBER working paper. 17.5 million Redfin users were randomly assigned to see or not see flood risk on home listing; the treated users went on to make offers on less risky homes. First casual evidence that homebuyers are adapting to climate change www.nber.org/papers/w33119
