The thing about Nuzzi is that I absolutely get doing ludicrously self-destructive shit for no other reason than desire, but you have to accept the destruction. The life you were living before you did the most outlandishly stupid thing imaginable is over now. Change your name and get a desk job.

Even for David Brooks this is stupid, but at least revealing in its violent lack of imagination.

This gives a hilariously inaccurate sense of my musical taste without including any albums I dislike.

Look, I'm bitterly opposed to AI art and generally think it devoid of legitimate uses, but I'm gonna need some deepfakes of Vance fucking a sofa ASAP.

Two things that are worth thinking about here:

1) The fact that this conversation is only ever had among cis people.

2) The fact that Ezra Klein absolutely knows better than to ask Ta-Nahesi Coates the equivalent question about white supremacists.

A hazard of being a cultural critic is that anything you’re interested in becomes work. So you really need to wall off some hobby. For me, that’s cooking, and specifically eating as locally as possible. Which means September is just Preservation Month. (This is a small fraction of what I’ve done.)

Sweet. I’m a terrorist. Didn’t expect to check that box purely by having a political belief and without actually engaging in a single activity.
