On top of refusing to fully fund SNAP during the shutdown, the Trump regime has:

-Cut $1 billion from USDA programs supporting food banks
-Enacted tariffs that have caused food prices to rise
-Made the largest cut to SNAP in history
-Canceled the annual food security survey

Shameful.

I’m surprised how much this show grew on me. Super Man and Lois is a very heartfelt show about family as much as it is a superhero show.

This flew under the radar, but Trump revoked a minimum wage hike for companies that contract with the government.

An estimated 390,000 workers will now see significant pay cuts.

It's not surprising that Trump's populism is fake, but it's hardly ever been more clear.

In celebration of national Women’s Day, I present my first fictional woman crush, Rook Bartley from Robotech: New Generation. One of the first depictions of a woman who was as good or better than all then men she fought with. Made an impression on 4th grade me.

In today’s Vatnik Soup, I’ll introduce Russia’s main narratives and explain how they are being spread online by Russian operatives and MAGA Republicans. After three years of war, Russia still relies on old narratives, now amplified by the Trump administration.

Where is the Congressional investigation?
‼️ A U.S.-Russia delegation is meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 led by 🇷🇺 FM Lavrov & oligarch Dmitry Rybolovlev to negotiate Ukraine’s 🇺🇦 future.

In 2008, Rybolovlev bought Trump’s Palm Beach property for $95M—3x what Trump paid—while Trump was in financial trouble.

The CFPB has:

-Returned $20B to victims of financial fraud
-Cracked down on junk fees
-Fought against politically-motivated debanking
-Protected veterans from predatory lenders
-Protected consumers' data from corporate abuse

Oligarchs want to reverse all of this.

Hegseth lacks the normal qualifications for secretary of defense. His books reveal two ideas about what armed forces are for: a site to express Christian Reconstructionism and gender ideology; and a means to defeat other Americans inside America.

Kroger and Albertsons claimed they wanted to merge into one grocery giant in order to keep prices low.

But after the merger was blocked, they approved spending a combined $10 billion on stock buybacks.

They each paid their CEOs over $15 million in 2023, by the way.

Hello?

The vicious cycle of monopolization:

1) Corporations argue that their growth is just part of the free market.
2) Use their monopoly power to gouge consumers.
3) Take a portion of their profits to make political donations.
4) Lobby against antitrust enforcement.
5) Repeat.
