But this is one of those times where we'd better start being very alarmed b/c "home-growns" is just a step removed from labeling someone, anyone, "sympathizer" & throwing them in a pit, or much worse. It gets big laughs!

Maybe take it up with some of your colleagues, @chrislhayes.bsky.social . I see plenty of them just going along with anything Trump an co. say with little or no pushback. Kinda helps to challenge this stuff at the source.
I know this is going to sound naive or earnest, but I genuinely find myself shocked by how little people seem to be upset by the levels of corruption we're seeing. Is that the median voter assumes everyone is corrupt already? Or isn't actually getting stories about the corruption?
