The actual breakdown is interesting. Turkey prices have continued to drop as farmers rebuilt their flocks post-avian flu. Wheat prices appear down -- due to reciprocal tariffs? But pretty much everything else is up -- they just aren't the expensive parts of the meal.

Based on Alton Brown's ice cube Martini recipe I've started making freezer cocktails. The Martinis are light on vermouth bc 50/50 recipes just freeze, but the Manhattans are classic 50/50 with 100 proof Rittenhouse so it doesn't turn to ice.

A dollar has always and will always be worth exactly $1. This is a dumb way of trying to show how the buying power of a dollar has fallen -- and ignores that a deflationary environment where $1 goes up is much worse than a modestly inflationary environment. And, what is the y-axis? A lot scale?

For years Ds proposed having the Medicare administrator negotiate lower drug prices, but Rs always opposed. I don't think Trump can do this given his general level of (in)competence, but negotiating drug prices is a good idea.

A small population of any sub-group are creeps. There is no reason to think that genuine trans ppl are "unusually creepy.' So we should mostly focus on "anti-creep" stuff instead of ppl who are ... doing their own shit and are mostly harmless.

What communities need: more, better selected and trained police with a wider set of social skills. What defund gets them -- fewer, more tired, less competent police.

Not in nominal terms, but in real terms .. it's a very good proxy -- particularly when you are talking about things that can be quantified and not "spiritual richness."

Presidents have to sit across from their country's literal enemies and smile and make pleasantries all the time. Ppl should get over D leaders trying to maintain some norms as compared to pointing and screaming like they are body snatched.
