Trump has launched seven deadly strikes in the Caribbean Sea.

Remember: no judge or jury has found these boats were trafficking drugs. We're simply taking Trump's word for it.

He’s unilaterally acting as judge, jury, and executioner.

I read this this morning, and I'm grappling a little with how to express why it's sticking in my head. Something along the lines of "important evidence that there's little point to bending the knee to save your skin -- they'll happily sell you later anyway."
Rubio promised to betray U.S. informants to get Trump’s El Salvador prison deal
To secure U.S. access to President Nayib Bukele’s notorious CECOT prison, Rubio agreed to turn over several MS-13 leaders central to a long-running Justice Department investigation.

Today I learned what "groypers" are.

And I can't help reflecting that it'd matter a lot less if the assassin is a leftwing nutcase or an even-further-rightwing nutcase if we had an administration that could universally condemn political violence instead of fanning the flames.

Every outlet covering any of this stuff needs to have somebody who actually knows conservative American religion and somebody who actually knows weird conservative internet shit. See in here how they not just overlap, but also collide
last night as i was trying to wind down for bed i had a unified theory of what the fuck just happened, and i wrote it down, and filed it under "well, i can't talk about this on main without sounding insane until and unless the perp gets caught and is provably a groyper"

anyways, great news! (1/X)

The headline about Melania suing H. Biden over the "extremely salacious" claim that Epstein introduced the Trumps led me to the documentation of Epstein claiming they first slept together on the Lolita Express? 🤷‍♀️

As numerous women recounted losing dangerous amounts of blood during miscarriage, our reporters searched for a way to gain a broader understanding of how abortion restrictions have impacted care.

Here's how we conducted our analysis.

Miscarriage Is Increasingly Dangerous for Women in Texas, Our Analysis Shows. Here’s How We Did It.
Using seven years of hospital discharge data, we found that the number of blood transfusions during emergency room visits for first-trimester miscarriage shot up by 54% since Texas banned abortion.

Not really a big patriotism person even when i'm feeling less inclined to try to bribe someone into marriage to get a visa out, but getting to sing "You'll Be Back" at karaoke a couple nights ago with a room full of people who knew every word made me almost warm and fuzzy about the holiday.

27 states have less rail transit ridership than Dollywood.

...given the deftness at error avoidance shown by this administration lately, would it really be asking so much for them to accidentally send a few of their officials along too 'til they figure out how to fix this?

Look. Imagine you like brats and beer.

You brew beer.

Your neighbor likes beer but doesn't brew.

Your other neighbor raises pigs and makes brats, but doesn't drink.

So you sell beer to the first guy, and use the money to buy brats from the second guy.

Now you've got beer AND brats. Total win.

As I munch on very pretty blueberries from Morocco that were somehow what showed up in my local grocery store... It occurs to me that modern logistics might just make working around the US instead of dealing with us less of a big deal than it once would've been.

I'm often a big proponent of doing more at federal level just because that's where we collectively have the attention and media resources for adequate monitoring now... But with the increase in Musk-style business there, thank goodness for local-level management of many critical systems like 9-1-1.
