I've found that I don't know if I'm going to enjoy editing a certain genre until I actually edit it. If you're someone who likes to read, who is good at putting yourself in the head of someone else (particularly a newer player), and who enjoys fact checking, TTRPG editing may be for you.

Did my master's thesis on memory loss/erasure and archives in Ursula K. Le Guin. Been thinking about that quite a bit lately...
Just a reminder that fascists, authoritarians, dictators of all stripes destroy archives— books, museums, databases, &c— because those things provide windows onto a plurality of other ways we might organize the world.
And so preserving, defending, and spreading that knowledge harms those regimes.

Copy editors simply need to possess constant curiosity, the instinct to look up things that smell even slightly off, the ability to listen to what a writer is doing before laying down the law, and a dictionary or two.
