Enforcement of bathroom bans never works because, believe it or not, gender is a spectrum and you can’t always tell who is trans, and people like Mace get it wrong so often.

I'm finding my stories are reaching far more people who have never encountered my work than ever on Twitter.

I'm firmly convinced in the last year or so, twitter has kept my content (and most people's), gated to a small subsection of the site, rarely reaching those not already aware.

Twitter has become the equivalent of the youtube comment section, 8 chan, Stormfront, and bot spam all mashed together in a single user experience.

It is no longer fit for purpose.

This site feels so much more diverse, only because you're talking to real people.

Same. The signal to noise ratio is infinitely higher than twitter. It's becoming a journalist paradise, which is going to be huge for the platform.

If a significant number of journalists move from Twitter to Bluesky as their primary posting spot, that signal to noise ratio will drop further on Twitter. Meanwhile, people will likely flock here in even larger numbers as major stories are broken here.

8. It remains unclear whether the bill has the votes to clear both chambers. While similar measures targeting trans people passed along party lines in the House, only to die in the Senate, people are watching the dynamics now that Republicans control both. Dems must keep a unified front to stop it.
