New idea for whenever there is a school shooting: Congress people who have voted against COMMON GUN SENSE LAWS and funding for mental health programs need to be PERSONALLY the ones to explain to their elementary/middle/high school aged future constituents why they voted against it.

I just sent a message urging my Congressional lawmakers to support the GOSAFE Act, which would regulate deadly assault weapons. There's no more time for inaction. Join me in urging your lawmakers to pass this life-saving bill: etwn.us/4j3bsqQ @everytown.bsky.social
Tell Congress: Ban Assault Weapons!
These weapons of war have no place in our communities.

No one is attacking private prayer.

The problem is treating it as a substitute for action while in office, leaving solutions to divine intervention instead of doing your job.

Kids being shot in a church isn’t God "working in mysterious ways" — it’s a failure of policy.

Imagine thinking your "personal freedoms" are worth more than a child's life.

Imagine fighting for emotionally unstable 20 something male civilians to have easy access to weapons designed to kill lots of ppl, really fast.

Imagine enabling the next mass shooter, while calling yourself "Christian"

Congress has given the President the power to take control of the D.C. local police for up to 30 days "for federal purposes," and to deploy the (tiny) D.C. National Guard.

As today's "One First" explains, that's the full extent of what the President can do to "federalize" D.C. without new statutes:
172. "Federalizing" D.C.
Like any federal enclave, the federal government has plenary power over the District of Columbia. But Congress has delegated most of that power to local officials; it would take new laws to undo that.

This is just another attack on our veterans and reproductive health care.
