Oh my god. Its real (Id seen chatter). OMB imposes a TOTAL halt on federal grants and loans, including disbursements on already awarded grants, and cancels all announcements of opportunity and such.

In the future, "ALL" grants and awards at agencies must be approved by "a political appointee"
NEW — OMB temporarily pauses all agency grants and loans programs.

Per copy of memo: "The use of Federal resources to advance Marxist equity, transgenderism, and green new deal social engineering policies is a waste of taxpayer dollars that does not improve the day-to-day lives of those we serve."

Good story with the first real information from NIH. Hopeful that some things will restart.
“There has been confusion on the scope of the pause,” said a memo from acting #NIH director Matthew Memoli viewed by STAT.

The truth about what's allowed: Ongoing clinical trials can continue, and projects that started before January 20 can continue with procurement

Trump's immigration crackdown is not about law & order. He has a vendetta against immigrants who followed the law, too
His EOs threaten to punish legal immigrants by doubling their taxes (invoking a never-used 1934 law); expatriating their kids; and blocking them from the US entirely

When someone puts their life on the line to defend this country in uniform, we in turn, promise them health care after their service.

Trump froze all hiring at the VA at a time when the VA is experiencing a shortage of doctors & nurses. Unacceptable. Our veterans deserve better.
