Every Ken Loach film is a piece of art and a field study on how power operates.

I’ve just rewatched The Wind That Shakes the Barley after years. Thank you @kenloach16films.bsky.social

Signed. Stamped.
Call me old-fashioned, but I truly believe soup is meant to be made in a cauldron over an open fire under a full moon with the sound of wolves in the distance.

Seeing our releases in cultural landmarks like Disk Union—places we consider temples of music—chosen as staff picks, receiving your unwavering support, and being recognized by a cultural icon like Gilles Peterson as one of the top 10 albums of the year were indescribable honors for us in 2024 ✨

" We hope someday, having solved the problems we face, to join a community of galactic civilizations. This record represents our hope and our determination, and our good will in a vast and awesome universe. "

"The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others”

For me, nobody epitomizes this quote better than Jimmy Carter.

Rest in peace, good Sir.

May your character, compassion and deeds inspire generations to understand the true meaning of a life well lived.

We released three LPs that we believe made a meaningful contribution to music history—and perhaps even to cultural history as a whole in 2024. We are deeply grateful to everyone who recognized our work and included us among their favorite releases of the year.+

Arguably one of Jimmy Carter's greatest achievement is bringing the world to the brink of eradicating the Guinea Worm.

From 3.5m cases a year in the 80s to less than 15 the last few years. It's an astounding public health achievement.

Dear The New Yorker, Baldwin's collaboration with Don Cherry was unknown until it was unearthed by us at Caz Plak. We've worked tirelessly and independently for years to restore this lost cultural history. It would’ve been meaningful to credit our efforts. cazplak.bandcamp.com/album/music-...

Make sure not to leave your trace solely in the digital realm- as you can see, digital is incredibly easy to manipulate. Whether you’re creating art, making music or resisting, always ensure there’s a physical trace, a tangible copy of it.

Do you know how much CEO pay has skyrocketed since 1978?

100%? 500%?

Try 1,085%

Meanwhile, the $7.25/hr fed. minimum wage hasn't budged in 15 years and the tipped min. wage has been $2.13/hr since 1991.

This is what I mean when I say the system is rigged.
CEO Pay Has Risen 1,085% Since 1978, But for Workers? Just 24% | Common Dreams
CEOs at top US companies saw their pay skyrocket by 1,085% since 1978, while typical worker pay only increased by 24%

The mainstream doesn’t represent true culture. Hip-hop’s battle mentality was about training people on a micro level against macro power. But once it was turned into a money-making machine and handed to the very forces it opposed, all the battle rules collapsed and everything became all in the game.

Say whatever but it’s a huge deal for someone of Drake's stature to sue a major label and the major streaming company. Props to him.

Like I said before, there is no way A.I. can replace human creativity. The biggest problem is that humans prefer to sit and train AI instead of training themselves.
Don't ask A.I to think for you, think for yourself. Don't ask A.I to imagine for you, build it yourself. You are a machine too.
