Part 2, Boom Witch breaks into the dungeon to free the accused witches. If at ground level she would've blown through the outer wall for expediency and an excuse to make a bigger explosion.

So was working on it til 10 minutes before the print shop closed for the day on the day I was supposed to set it up at Koneksi gallery in Clinton, WA...needless to say I would've liked to polish it a bit more but I'm satisfied I did the best I could in the time I had.

While defending the luddite argument in Discord, I stumbled into this IMO succinct explanation for opposing generative AI:

At every step in the process, it impoverishes us.
AI impoverishes us at every step of the process: - data centers pollute our environment - energy use drives up costs - content theft robs creators of income - the actual output is used to displace workers and depress wages - using it harms our mental health and impairs our competence - the flood of AI slop is damaging our sociopolitical landscape All in service of making a worse product - and world - to enrich a handful of already spectacularly wealthy people

Your overwhelming support shows con organizers, panelists, and creators that an online-first festival is not only sustainable when organized equitably, but is something that the worldwide comics community actively wants. Still not convinced? Let's look at some statistics! $1,908.79 USD from our storefront so far is going directly to independent creators! As a volunteer organization run by cartoonists, we only subtract the credit card fee from sales- so far this has been about $30 USD. We do not take any kind of personal salary or stipend and there are no hidden charges! Our goal is to get funds in the hands of cartoonists who need it, not to make ourselves a tidy profit. Our average order is $15.69 USD with 400+ comics sold to 150+ people! Our events have an average 22 attendees in Zoom, with Youtube streams garnering 739 unique viewers and a combined 351 watch hours. Of those unique viewers, 35% (or 258 individuals) are new people who found us through related subjects on YT and not through our social media! This means lots of brand new non-co-op people are learning about comics and our industry. One of our missions has always been to spread knowledge amongst cartoonists and enthusiasts- these numbers prove it's working! This is amazing for our very first year- and it's not too late for you to join in! Be a part of industry history by paying cartoonists what they're owed for their work and by learning more from seasoned professionals each weekend.
