Each time a protest is violently shut down, a university is defunded for political reasons, or a person is deported without a fair hearing, the foundation of our democracy cracks just a little bit more. We must all raise our voice in opposition before the damage is irreparable.

This is an obvious point, but cannot overstated. There is an enormous difference between deporting someone - where they get off a plane as a free citizen in their home country AND FUNNELING THEM INTO A BRUTAL PRISON FROM WHICH THEY HAVE NO CHANCE OF EVER EMERGING!!!
