When the messaging coming from UKGov is non-stop negativity about immigration incl. the association "immigrants=criminals" ("hey,you,little immigrant,how dare you get a parking ticket? You broke our laws,face deportation!") w/ no positivity,who'd blame "someone who lives in a seaside retiree town"?

Man who's spent the last year,w/ his stooges Cooper+Mahmood, whipping up racism & xenophobia complains that "Decades-old racism is returning to British politics, and 'it makes people feel very scared'" - and now apparently, it's the "right message". It may be right, but the hypocrisy is staggering.

The sooner the Labour party gets rid of him (and McSweeney) the better.
Also, Streeting, Cooper, Mahmood and others who have gone along with these policies.
OTOH though, they could continue along this road and be forced into a coalition with Polanski and Davey in 2029.

Sigh. The meeting in May is fundamentally misunderstood in the UK press. Its purpose was to show that, after a decade of rudeness and unreliability, the UK was now prepared play nicely with others again. Consequently it resulted in just one actual agreement, viz extension of fishing quotas.

But that is not enough. No.10 should never have been in a position to install Gibb in the first place. It shouldn't control the board membership, the DG appointment, or the purse strings. What's required is genuine independence for the BBC.
