There is no "high road" when someone is trying to KILL you or lock you up forever because you won't just stand aside and let them do whatever they want. There's no "nonviolence" in a conflict where one side is violently attacking the other.

That's what needs to be said. The Republican side celebrates violence EVERY DAY. They celebrate the violence of ICE secret police against brown people, they celebrate the violence of cops against Black people, Trump would regularly celebrate and encourage violence against reporters at his rallies.

We are in a violent political war now, and it should NOT be controversial to say that bc it is true by any reasonable definition. And in a war, celebrating the demise of your enemies makes sense.

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.
This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.
It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

Online though? It’s a dif story. My theory is that this admin is intentionally trying to cause unrest to garner headlines/photo ops that stoke fear & chaos. Then using bots across social media to project mass support which they believe will breed mass consent as ppl tire of trying to push back.

When I go outside, I see less and less MAGA merch. Orange man flags have come down. Granted, I do live in a rather blue area, but I’ve clocked the ones that kept rocking the merch since 2016 and they have quietly stopped. Anecdotal? Yes. However, I think they ALL know he’s losing support rapidly.
