Trickle-down economics was always a sham.

A Democratic Party with any spirit would stage a press conference every single day to present Donald Trump with one sarcastic award after another.

The Dennis Hastert Award for Enabling Pedophilia
The Richard Nixon Memorial Trophy for Lawlessness
The Blue Ribbon for Setting a Record Federal Deficit
Trump: Since 1978 the Kennedy Center honors have been amongst the most prestigious awards. I wanted one, never able to get one. I would have taken it. I waited and waited and waited and I said to hell with it, I'll become chairman. I will give myself an honor. Next year we'll honor trump, okay?

Nobody said it would be easy, but Republicans found a way to cut taxes for the rich while taking away your healthcare. A story of true heroism.

If you really believe that, why the hell did you vote for the bill?

Millions of people would lose health coverage and become uninsured under the Republican health agenda, including:
📍154,000 people in Kentucky
📍243,000 people in Louisiana
📍41,000 people in Maine
📍210,000 people in Maryland

Policymakers should protect people’s health care, not cut it.

Every cut that the government makes to social services is effectively a tax on women. Because they're the ones who will be expected to fill in the gaps.
BREAKING: 1 in 4 nursing homes say they will be forced to close if Republicans pass Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill.

Today's Supreme Court decision does not opine on the constitutionality of Trump's assault on birthright citizenship. It is limited to the question of universal injunctions. But its ruling on that front is MASSIVE—a huge blow to plaintiffs and judges trying to block Trump's most lawless policies.

He was only 12 when his life was taken by a #Cleveland police officer. His killing was one of many that sparked the #BLM Movement.

Yes, the US is marching down path to autocracy familiar to countries around the world; this too is a recognizable part of a playbook. But fear is a goal we don't have to buy into. This is security theater in 1 town. It's bad. It's not martial law. Keep doing what you can do. /end

This is a really excellent overview of the GOP's recent budget proposal bill with compelling visuals that show us the current administration's economic vision for the US: "You pay more for less."

Republicans want you to pay more for less
Donald Trump's policies are punishing the poor, rewarding the rich, inflating prices, and shrinking revenues. And for what?

House Republicans passed their bill that’d rip health insurance from millions and take food assistance away from millions including households with kids as young as 7 in the largest Medicaid and SNAP cuts in history - while giving giant tax cuts to the rich.

Thread on the next steps of the process.

This bill would cause so much additional suffering. It would be by far the largest Medicaid cuts in history, kicking millions off their health insurance and condemning thousands of those people each year to die due to lack of coverage.

(note the House-passed version is actually worse than this)

CBO estimates that the combined effect of Republican Medicaid proposals, allowing enhanced ACA premium tax credits to expire, and President Trump’s proposed ACA rules would increase the number of uninsured by 13.7 million. That would take us back to close to pre-ACA levels.
