This stretch of Cedar Ave will be rebuilt by Hennepin County in 2026-2027. The design has a median and shorter crossing distance.

I was inspired by Robert Joyce’s letter to the Star Tribune about consolidating cities. I mocked up what his proposal would look like in the metro area. These two mergers would be the 3rd and 4th largest cities in the metro. www.startribune.com/readers-writ...

I completely agree! I can see the midline was pretty close to the crosswalk but I would have thought grinding down a few feet or painting it yellow would have been enough. They also said there were no plans to remove them in other locations.

38th Street used to have space for grassy boulevards and trees large enough to provide a canopy over the road. Now the only trees we have are utility poles that obstruct pedestrian and wheelchair access.

Never forget what they took from us; Reject modernity, embrace tradition; RETVRN; etc

Could that be the performance where Billie Joe Armstrong met his wife?

When do we start telling them they need to Join, or Die?

Update: A car has taken out the fence at the corner and would have hit the house if not for a large tree.

I missed out on the original launch of @mnaurorafc.bsky.social but I made sure to be a part of this one.

Sometimes I wonder how many people know about the associations with that number. I was surprised to see a Saint Paul Police Department squad car with the it. I don’t know the SPPD fleet numbering policy so maybe numbers 1480-1490 are all the same type/year but the number certainly caught my eye.

This damaged sign advertising safety improvement on Park and Portland avenues is perhaps a good indication of why we need safety improvements on Park and Portland.

Does anyone know why some Minneapolis street signs show a bike symbol even if they don't have any bike infrastructure? This example is from 38th St and Cedar Ave. The sign appears to have changed at some point between 2017 and 2019. @alexschief.bsky.social

At the terminus of the Gold Line is a giant park-and-ride ramp. Across the street Washington County is building a new Central Service Center to replace the current service center on Radio Drive. It's great that the new Central Service Center will be transit accessible.

Tamarack Station in Woodbury now has shelters installed, red paint at the entrance of the bus lanes and station name pylons visible. The roadway looks very wide with two private vehicle lanes in each direction, turn lanes, and two bus lanes in the center.

The new sign for the SunRay Mall is pretty stately but I still miss the garishness of the old green sign. The separate lanes for the Gold Line and the SunRay Station location are very visible in the second picture.

There has been a lot of progress on the Gold Line since this summer as illustrated in these two images from July and October of 2024.

MNUFC blast from the past: Here are two photos from April 2012 when the then Minnesota Stars FC played their season opener at the Metrodome. The previous season average attendance was around 1,600 so to see 8,500 fans at the Metrodome felt like a really big deal.

There are as many people in the right lanes as there are in the left three lanes. 🚌

Where are you seeing less frequent service on Saturdays? I might be reading their reports wrong but Appendix A appears to be an increase

The tallest building on the south side of University Ave was the location of Saint Paul institution Porky’s Drive-In. The building and some signs were salvaged and are now located in Hastings.
