My aunt in Spain sent me her paella recipe and included the instructions "rest 5-10 minutes under a newspaper - must be left wing." So of course I used my print edition of @theonion.com, the last bastion of liberal thought available in newsprint form in the US!

fun fact to lighten the otherwise never ending doom cycle! with a little help from a crayon sharpener, the Hanukkah candles from Floral Society do double duty as mini tapers in these tiny Dansk candle holders.

I kind of wonder if #Target even knows that their app search experience has been completely broken for weeks? (iOS, iPhone 15, ymmv). I've gotten this error message on every search since at least early December.

My favorite thing about Waymo rides is the skill with which the car avoids hitting pedestrians and cyclists even when crazy people jaywalk on Van Ness, and my second favorite thing is setting all of them to play KEXP for the next passenger.
