The backlash has sparked a fresh debate over the psychological attachments some users form with chatbots trained to push their emotional buttons. Some Reddit users dismissed complaints about GPT-5 as evidence of an unhealthy dependence on an AI companion.

What do you think?

GPT-5 was touted as a major upgrade to ChatGPT, but not everyone thinks that’s the case. “Kill 4o isn’t innovation, it’s erasure.”

Trump Admin Warns States They’ll Lose Billions In Broadband Grants If They Try To Make Broadband Affordable
The Trump administration is once again warning states that they risk losing billions of dollars in historic infrastructure bill grants -- if they attempt to make the taxpayer-subsidized broadband actually affordable. That's the updated guidance coming out of the Trump National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), which is tasked with coordinating the looming $42.5 billion Broadband Equity Access and Deployment (BEAD) grant made possible by the 2021 infrastructure bill.

Russia used manipulated images to justify the invasion of Ukraine. A new study reveals a 9,000% increase in posts and 5,000% surge in manipulated images from Russian milbloggers in the 2 weeks before the invasion.

How #AI tools and humans team up to analyze social media content:
Memes and conflict: Study shows surge of imagery and fakes can precede international and political violence
Visual content, including manipulated images, is a staple of propaganda and political messaging. AI analysis shows that a surge of these memes can precede the outbreak of wide-scale violence.

I think we wouldn’t have this fucking mess if Obama didn’t bail the banks in 2008. The financial system is in private hands and does very little for the wellbeing of the society. It created an even more unequal system fueled by the middle class debt with a cherry on top for the rich. #obama #economy

Columbia student and New Yorker, Mahmoud Khalil - who was targeted and detained for constitutionally protected speech - should be home with his 8 months pregnant wife today.

Not missing in ICE detention, unreachable by his lawyers.
