The thing that annoys me about blocks, especially the way Bsky does them, is that it prevents me from reading threads easily. Especially when it's two people I don't know and one has blocked the other, breaking the thread and removing context.

Three big things that should be kept in mind:

1. Do not let hostile ideologues take over your organization.

2. Do not let your organization become governed a coterie of "good ol' boys"

3. If your organization is not a social club, do not let your members treat it as such.

What happens is that they get a reverse mortgage that only runs out of money after they're already dead.

Time to annihilate this idea that we’re only allowed to care about something if the average yokels cares, and also anything we get mad about is a performative attempt to appeal to stupid yokels, and also the yokels don’t care about anything. Just STOP IT. Get mad, about real stuff that matters.

In other words, it isn’t accurate to say the Illinois State Patrol providing basic assistance to protect protesters and keep order is a tacit form of cooperation with the federal government, when the absence of state LEOs would likely do much more harm in the grander scheme of Trump’s plans.
