Data visualization and interactive web tools are kinda my thing. Interested in science, nature and environment
I made myself a t-shirt using 37 mpb. I also had a discussion w/ my wife & daughter and they said something similar: they didn't want to bike 20-30 miles just to eat a burrito. It hadn't occurred to me that's how it would be perceived since I came at it from a math and efficiency perspective.

So the sticker for me would probably be in the 30-45 mpb range (i.e. 37 mpb), which is similar to the mpg for an above average efficiency car (Honda civic mpg is ~36mpg combined).

I average around 35 calories burned per mile cycled. My watch estimates calories so I calculated the cal/mile ranges for rides across various altitudes and elevation gain/strenuousness from 22 to 44 calories per mile, so my efficiency varies from 25-50 mpb (for that 1115 cal burrito).

There are even more interactive visualizations and tools on the website. I am an occasional teacher/lecturer, so if you do end up using them for a classroom/educational setting, I'd love to hear about it and how you use them.
