I made myself a t-shirt using 37 mpb. I also had a discussion w/ my wife & daughter and they said something similar: they didn't want to bike 20-30 miles just to eat a burrito. It hadn't occurred to me that's how it would be perceived since I came at it from a math and efficiency perspective.

I average around 35 calories burned per mile cycled. My watch estimates calories so I calculated the cal/mile ranges for rides across various altitudes and elevation gain/strenuousness from 22 to 44 calories per mile, so my efficiency varies from 25-50 mpb (for that 1115 cal burrito).

Hey @bikeeastbay.bsky.social I recently received this cool sticker for joining your org. I wanted to point out that the number for mpb should be higher, at least according to my calcs. Chipotle has a calorie counter and my preferred burrito there has 1115 calories in it (w/ no sour cream or cheese)
