'Harm from gambling is not inevitable - it is preventable.'

As a start how about:

1️⃣Constrain the addictive products

2️⃣End gambling advertising

3️⃣Shield policy makers from gambling lobbyists

I reacted to BBC File on 4's investigation into the failure of gambling venues to protect customers - which won't be a surprise to anyone except apparently the Government and the Regulator.

Government policy is to grow the gambling industry.

That means more addiction and more suicide.

Time for a rethink.

A CEGA investigation has found Premier League clubs Leicester, Wolves & newly-promoted Burnley are advertising unlicensed gambling sites that accept UK customers.

These clubs are thumbing their noses at the Gambling Commission & letting down their fans.

Hats off to @carolinerussell.bsky.social for continuing to push the Mayor of London to do the right thing on gambling ads.

We can't wait for central government to opine on this topic. We need local leaders up and down the country to demand change.
It's such a joke that the gambling lobby say they make billions for the economy. Where are those billions coming from? Often the pockets of poor & addicted people. Where do those billions go? Into the pockets of exploitative gambling execs. 💸👎🏻

Global coverage of the Gambling Commission's investigation of Stake after our complaint. Big Q's remain:

1⃣ Why are dodgy Gambling Co's allowed to operate in GB without their own licence?

2⃣Will the regulator let them get off without sanctions?

3⃣Will @DCMS get control to protect children?
